Grotto Raffael, Losone

The 150-year-old Grotto Raffael is one of the oldest and most typical grottos in Ticino and still serves traditional Ticinese dishes. With its fantastic terrace in the shade of huge, centuries-old trees, it is the ideal place for hot summer days. A small playground also makes it perfect for families. Grotto America, Ponte Brolla

The Grotto America is a very special place: in the nineteenth century, it was a meeting place for many emigrants to set off together on their journey to Genoa and onwards by ship to North America. Today it is a small grotto surrounded by greenery with an idyllic view of the Maggia river. Grotto Pozzasc, Peccia

The old mill is located right next to a natural pool formed by the river of the Peccia Valley, which is characterised by its crystal-clear water. Polenta with ragout and various cheeses, mortadella and codegotto are prepared every day over the open fire in a large pot.
