Best of Ticino - Hiking

Hiking on the most beautiful routes in Ticino

1st day: Individual arrival
Individual arrival and overnight stay at the Hotel Casa Berno in Ascona including a breathtaking view over Lake Maggiore.

2nd day: High up in the Centovalli
On this day we will go high up in the famous Centovalli! By train and cable car you will travel as far as Rasa, the last car-free village in Ticino that is inhabited all year round. From there you hike via Monti to the Corona die Pinz, where a wonderful view over the Ticino awaits you. In numerous serpentines you will later descend towards Ronco sopra Ascona, where you will stay overnight in the enchantingly situated boutique hotel La Rocca.

3rd day: Maggia Valley

From Hotel La Rocca we take the bus to Locarno and from there up the Maggia valley to Maggia, Centro. Life was hard in the longest valley in Ticino, consolation was provided by the church, buildings of piety and foreign bailiffs bear witness to this.
Here we recommend the medium-difficulty circular hike through the unspoilt Valle del Salto. Religious wayside shrines line the path and you pass stone settlements that lie impressively between the rugged rocks of the gorge. In autumn, the valley lights up in golden splendour and is ideal for collecting chestnuts. This evening you will stay at the boutique hotel Remorino in Minusio-Locarno.
